Octavia (?–11 B.C.), the sister of Octavian (later Emperor Augustus) and the second wife of Mark Antony. She married Antony in 40 B.C. in order to solidify the alliance between him and Octavian. Though she was beautiful and cultured, Antony abandoned her for Cleopatra and formally divorced her in 32 B.C. Nevertheless, Octavia reared Antony's children by his first wife as well as her own children. Later she also reared Cleopatra's children. Three Roman emperors—Caligula, Claudius, and Nero—were descended from Octavia and Antony.
