Fifteen Decisive Battles of the World, a book written in 1851 by the British historian Sir Edward Creasy. The book describes 15 battles from Marathon (490 B.C .) to Waterloo (1815) that shaped the course of the Western world. Some of these battles, although not militarily decisive, created a profound psychological impact. Many historians would present a somewhat different list of decisive battles.
