Le Sueur Pierre (1657?–1705?), a French explorer of North America. Le Sueur came to Canada in 1679. In 1695 he negotiated a peace treaty between the Sioux and Chippewa Indians of the upper Mississippi. He also established several French forts in the region. In 1700 Le Sueur sailed up the Mississippi from its mouth into present-day Minnesota.
